How A2O LITE was formed
A2O LITE did not come from a TV survival show. In October 2024, A2O Entertainment introduced a trainee unit called A2O Rookies through performance videos, and some future A2O LITE members were part of it. The group's social media accounts opened on October 8, 2026.
On October 12, 2026, A2O LITE held a joint debut showcase with its brother group A2O SOUL, a 15-member boy group, at the Korea International Exhibition Center. The NEON music video was released the same evening, and the single followed on October 13.
What "A2O" and "LITE" mean
A2O stands for "alpha to omega", the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. LITE means light. Both groups live in a shared fictional universe called the A2O Cosmic Epic, set on a planet called Soulite, where each member is linked to a color shaped by memories. The agency calls the music "Zalpha Pop", a term Lee Soo-man coined for Gen Z and Generation Alpha.
You will also see the group written as "A20 LITE" with a zero. That is a typo; see A20 LITE or A2O LITE?.
